Stanzin Norphel is a Ladakh-based illustrator and concept artist whose work is rooted in the landscapes, culture, and folklore of Ladakh and the greater Himalayan region. With a Master’s degree in Animation, he specializes in world-building and environment design, creating visual narratives inspired by traditional heritage and contemporary storytelling. 

Growing up in Ladakh, Stanzin spent much of his childhood exploring the mountains, hiking through remote valleys, swimming in glacial streams, and experiencing the region’s long winters and snowfall. These experiences shaped his creative vision and continue to inspire the landscapes and worlds he creates.

Deeply inspired by Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage, folklore, and oral traditions, Stanzin is passionate about preserving and reimagining stories that have been passed down through generations. As a land once walked by great Buddhist masters and ruled by remarkable kings, Ladakh holds a timeless legacy that continues to inspire his work. Through his art, he seeks to reimagine these stories and bring them to life for contemporary audiences, creating meaningful connections between the past and the present.
